About the Experience

Every April it seems that Mother Nature grants the PNW at least one unseasonably warm day. When this happens, it’s as if everyone falls under a magical spell. We emerge from our homes, ready to take a long walk, visit a local park, or simply bask in the sun. We all know that the moment is fleeting, so we savor every last moment of it. There is no better way to take advantage of that precious day than to pack up a picnic and head to your favorite outdoor destination. Let’s get ready for National Picnic Day and National Coffee Cake Day by preparing the perfect picnic feast. Here’s the menu: Main course: Oven-Baked Barbecue Chicken, Chickpea Salad Dessert: Coffee Cake How it Works: During this 90-minute virtual cooking class, we’ll prepare a two-course meal together. Chef Jennifer will walk you through each step and answer any questions along the way. She’ll also provide additional information about the cuisine and the ingredients. Once the meal is prepared, you’ll be ready to sit down for a delicious Sunday supper! Recipes and ingredient lists go out via email 5 to 7 days prior to class. Chef Jennifer makes every effort to stick with ingredients that participants should be able source at their local grocery store. In addition, no unusual kitchen equipment is necessary. All levels of experience are welcomed.
